About Us
This collaborative film project was suggested as a sequel to an earlier oral history project and documentary film about Rev. Harold Case and the Garrison dam (the video is online here). Film screenings and discussions with community members led to the idea of community based video workshops, where MHA community members can learn to make and edit videos themselves. MHA community members are interested in representing themselves and their perspectives in the media. This project has been developed in partnership between staff at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO; Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College in New Town, ND; and Dakota Media Access in Bismarck, ND. Workshop participants will be able to view and share their work online and on community access cable television.
